Laptop and tablet charging trolleys left running 24/7 will continue to draw a small amount of power overnight, on weekends and during holidays. This not only wastes energy but can also potentially harm some laptop hardware.

Some trolleys have built-in timers, but low-cost timer plugs can also be used. Remote timers are available to prevent plugs from being removed or bypassed.

The most efficient charging method is at the start of the school day. We therefore recommend switching trolleys on at 7 am and off at 2 pm. Using a 7-day timer ensures they are automatically switched off over weekends.
