Pupils meet with the caretaker or site manager to discuss their role in saving energy

Coldean Primary School, Tuesday, 02 December 2025
30 points 14 pupils Communicator KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4, KS5

The Carbon Crushers met with our Caretaker to discuss ways to reduce our energy consumption. One of the ideas was to reduce the time the heating is on during the day.
We have reduced this by 3.5 hours per day which should make quite a saving.

Activity description

Your school Caretaker or Site Manager has an important job to play: making sure that everything in your school is working and running smoothly so that you and your teachers can focus on your learning.

They also have a great deal of responsibility when it comes to how much energy your school uses.  Use this resource to interview them and share with them how they could be helping to cut energy use in the school.
