Learn about where our electricity and gas comes from and their impact on the environment

Holyhead School, Tuesday, 04 November 2025
30 points 300 pupils Explorer KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4

This is taught during tutor time, in year 8 and 10 to raise awareness of the impact of fossil fuels and how we need to move towards a future using renewable energy.

Activity description

This lesson will provide pupils with an overview of how electricity is produced, including fossil fuels and renewables, where our gas comes from and how our energy use affects the environment.

Three activities, including videos, infographics and worksheets, will provide a solid basis for whole classes or smaller groups for further energy research and projects.
