Use appliance monitors to understand the energy use of individual appliances

John Grant School, Wednesday, 26 November 2025
30 points 0 pupils Detective KS1, KS2, KS3

Site team implement energy usage monitors across site.

Activity description

Appliance monitors let you see the energy that a single appliance is using as well as adding up the energy that the appliance uses over a period of time. You can also use the appliance monitor to see how much it has cost to operate the appliance for a certain amount of time. Appliance monitors can be very useful to identify energy guzzling appliances to help support the case for appliance upgrades. Try adding appliance monitors to fridges, freezers, IT equipment, hot drink boilers, and kettles to compare their energy use.
