Activity description

Run a debate to help your pupils understand some the issues surrounding renewable energy generation, including the pros and cons of wind farm development.

  • Consider and evaluate different viewpoints, attending to and building on the contributions of others.
  • Participate in discussions, presentations, performances, role play, improvisations and debates.
Key Stage 2 (Age 7-11) 


  • Year 5 and 6 (Age 9-11)
     
    • Ask questions to improve their understanding.

    • Distinguish between statements of fact and opinion.

    • Explain and discuss their understanding of what they have read, including through formal presentations and debates

  • Describe and understand key aspects of human geography, including: types of settlement and land use, economic activity including trade links, and the distribution of natural resources including energy, food, minerals and water.
