In our assembly on Monday we were considering how we could keep the classrooms cool in the summer months (not that we needed any cooling on this particular day!)
The assembly was virtual to children from Y1-6 who were able to share ideas to their teacher which were then said aloud or written in the group chat.
Children recognised that closing blinds during the day might help to keep the room cooler
I explained to children that also turning off lights and the smartboard when they weren't needed would also help to keep the classroom cooler.
Children knew that, where aircon is in a classroom, keeping the doors and windows closed helps with energy efficiency.
The children across the school pledged to manage the heating/cooling of their classrooms and record on their weekly monitor sheet.
