Label lights and appliances to show which should be left on or turned off

Sir Jonathan North Girls' College, Thursday, 06 November 2025
30 points 20 pupils Change-maker KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4, KS5

We visited all classrooms and added stickers to the main light switch. It is a green sticker that says 'turn it off' so that people remember to turn off the lights when they leave the room.
We are also encouraging staff to only use some of the lights in rooms where there are rows of lights which can be turned on individually.

Activity description

Pupils will identify all IT equipment, appliances and lighting throughout the school and indicate which can be turned off using a traffic light coding system.
