Measure classroom temperatures

Trinity C of E First School, Thursday, 24 October 2019
5 Investigating energy usage KS1, KS2

What you did

We split the energy sparks club into small  groups and assign them to measure the temperatures in different parts of the school.  We measured a classrooms, small rooms, the library, the corridor and the hall. We discussed why it is not a good idea for the classrooms to be too hot and how important it is to switch the heating off during the school holidays.

Activity description

Pupils will find out whether the school is too warm or too cold. If the school is too warm the heating could be turned down to save energy.
