Schools often forget to turn their heating off in warm weather, about 10% of schools leave their heating on all summer.
This benchmark shows how much of the school’s heating is used in warm weather. Schools should aim to keep their heating off as much as possible in warm weather. In mild weather the large numbers of pupils and electrical equipment should be enough to keep the school warm once it is open for the day.
