Build a model floating wind turbine

ALP Sittingbourne, Wednesday, 05 February 2025
15 points 11 pupils Explorer KS2, KS3

We built this as individuals and over 2 classes were involved. The children loved building the wind turbines and putting them in the water to see if they floated.

I think next time i would get the children to design their own wind turbine and ask them what they need to build it. I would also maybe give them the option whether they want to do it as a class or their own one.

Activity description

Blue Gem Wind have created this fantastic resource to teach primary aged children about how the sun, wind and waves can give us the energy we need.

Watch the video and then build your STEM skills by making a model of a floating wind turbine.
