Site officer to turn off heating for the day, we will also try and limit the amount of electricity used. 
Email sent out to advise parents, children to come in in layers if needed - non uniform. 
Staff all notified.   parents and pupils all notified. 12/3/25.  
Operations manager to check Energy sparks the Friday before and Friday after - report the savings to parents on the April newsletter. 

Activity description

Take charge of the heating at your school by running a Layer Up Power Down Day.

Many schools spend a large proportion of their heating energy warming the school to an excessive temperature or when its empty.

We're hoping that by encouraging schools turn their heating off or down on one day - ideally a Friday or Monday plus the closest weekend - we can raise awareness of how much energy schools are wasting by keeping their heating too high or when schools are closed - especially at the weekends and over holidays.

Don't forget to look at your heating data the following week to spot how much difference your action has made.
