Activity description

Many schools have photovoltaic panels which produce energy from sunlight. These panels reduce the school's electricity consumption from the National Electricity Grid and reduce the school's carbon emissions, as electricity produced from solar panels produces very little carbon. Solar panels also save schools money.

Our downloadable worksheet on the right uses the data from one of our Energy Sparks schools to explore how much energy can be provided by solar panels and how much this might cost.

If you have solar panels your own solar data will be shown below and can be used to answer the questions on the sheet.
