Understand how our carbon emissions cause the Greenhouse Effect and Climate change

Oasis Academy - Immingham, Friday, 02 February 2024
10 Explorer KS1, KS2, KS3

What you did

Today the students engaged in a lesson on carbon emissions, the greenhouse effect and climate change. The students learnt how carbon footprints are increased, evaluated how big their own is and how they could reduce them. Items were discussed such as walking where you can, switching off electrical items and reducing single use plastics. Science lessons were delivered discussing greenhouse gases and the effect these can have on the environment and how climate change impacts us as humans, our natural resources and plants and wildlife

Activity description

Understanding the carbon we emit as individuals and organisations is crucial if we are to reduce the negative impact we have on our environment.  This activity will demonstrate to pupils how the actions they take contribute to the warming of our planet.
