As part of our Eco-Committee’s dedication and commitment to reducing our waste and usage, and nurturing our environment they have created the below policy that will be shared with staff, pupils and visitors.
We have no showers or swimming pools on site.
What we will do:
The school ( AOM / Premises ) is responsible for arranging and managing the water and sewerage contract.
The School will try to reduce water waste by implementing the following actions :
o Posters around school to remind users to turn off taps
o Check all taps are water efficient ie aerators
o Check toilet cistern flush capacity
o Catering staff reminded to put dishwasher on when full
o Kettles are filled only to required water level
o Urinals to be on a sensor so only flush when required
The school will review and compare our water usage regularly.
The caretaker/premises will regularly check the school grounds for leaks and repair/report anything promptly.
The school will hold an annual water saving audit.
We will collect rain water in water butts to help catch natural rain fall which we will use t water plants in drier weather.
Toilets and kitchen areas will be regularly checked by eco team members for any taps etc left running.
