Pupils meet with kitchen staff to discuss their role in saving energy

What you did
The Children spoke with Mrs Harris and Mrs Bagg about the firdges and freezers being turned off especially during the school holidays. They agreed this could happen making sure all food was sued up before so no waste.
The children asked if the hot plate trolley could be turned off soon when finished with. The staff agreed to this too. They would have to us the dishwasher has they have so many plates to wash up.
The children made a list of appliances that could b turned of at the end of the day to save energy and Mrs Harris and Mrs Bagg agreeed to trialling the measures and reporting back to the crew in 2 weeks time.
Activity description
School kitchens are a major energy consumption area.
Pupils can interview the kitchen staff to find out how appliances are used in the kitchen and where energy might be saved.
