Last weekend 4,200 kWh of gas was used costing £630. Switch off the heating at the weekend to save energy!

Last week the school's electricity baseload was 16% more than the average over the last year. If this continues it will cost £22,000 more over the next year. 

Gas use in the Spring half term 2025 holidays has increased by 27% compared to Spring half term 2024. 

Between Saturday 15 Feb 2025 and Sunday 23 Feb 2025 you used 28,000 kWh of gas at a cost of £4,200. Adjusting for changes in outside temperature, this is still an increase of 6,000 kWh and 1,100 kg CO2. Ask the school site manager to check the heating controls to reduce gas use during the school holidays.

There is a large variation in seasonal overnight electricity usage from 66 kW in the winter to 45 kW in the summer. This suggests electric heating is left running overnight during the winter or the school has inefficient security or flood lights. Change electric heater settings and improve lighting efficiency to save £24,000 annually.
