What you did
Year 6 have planned a whole school Power Down day - this will consist of all classes turning off their electrical devices all day, no christmas lights, no laptops/computers/iPads. Everything the children do this day will be practical. We will then analyse our data to compare a normal Thursday with our Power Down Thursday.
Activity description
Take charge of the heating at your school by running a Layer Up Power Down Day.
Many schools spend a large proportion of their heating energy warming the school to an excessive temperature or when its empty.
We're hoping that by encouraging schools turn their heating off or down on one day - ideally a Friday or Monday plus the closest weekend - we can raise awareness of how much energy schools are wasting by keeping their heating too high or when schools are closed - especially at the weekends and over holidays.

Don't forget to look at your heating data the following week to spot how much difference your action has made.
