5 Investigating energy usage KS1, KS2

What you did

The children in our Energy Sparks club paired up to measure the temperature in different areas of the school using thermometers.  The children came back together at the end and we shared our findings. We used our posters from last week as a temperature guide to say if the temperature was too low or too high. We discussed how to use thermostats to turn the heating down to ensure we are not wasting too much energy.

Activity description

Pupils will find out whether the school is too warm or too cold. If the school is too warm the heating could be turned down to save energy.
