Recent changes in your energy usage

Bad News!  Your school's electricity use in the Spring half term 2025 holidays has increased by 45% compared to Spring half term 2024. Between Saturday 15 Feb 2025 and Sunday 23 Feb 2025 you used 2,100 kWh at a cost of £590. This is an increase of 640 kWh compared to the same period in the holidays last year and released an extra 76 kg CO2.

Gas use in the Spring half term 2025 holidays has increased by 650% compared to Spring half term 2024. 

Between Saturday 15 Feb 2025 and Sunday 23 Feb 2025 you used 9,200 kWh of gas at a cost of £490. Adjusting for changes in outside temperature, this is still an increase of 8,000 kWh and 1,500 kg CO2. Ask the school site manager to check the heating controls to reduce gas use during the school holidays.

Long term trends and advice

There is a large variation in seasonal overnight electricity usage from 9.9 kW in the winter to 6.1 kW in the summer. This suggests electric heating is left running overnight during the winter or the school has inefficient security or flood lights. Change electric heater settings and improve lighting efficiency to save £1,500 annually.
