We have been encouraging our staff to switch off lights in the corridors and classrooms as we have adequate natural light. We plan to colour code all switches so it is easier for the children to identify possible energy savings as well, especially when going outside for lunch break on sunny/bright days.
Activity description
Did you know? Making good use of daylight in a classroom can reduce lighting costs by 19%.
In this activity pupils discover how classroom set up can increase natural light levels and explore the optimal levels of light in their classrooms.
