Watch out - the heating or hot water is running during the current school holidays! Up to Thursday 9 Apr 2026 the school used 12,000 kWh of gas during this holiday, which has cost £480 and generated 2,200 kg CO2. Make sure both your heating and hot water are switched off to prevent further waste.

If you choose to leave your heating and/or hot water running, by the end of the holidays you will have used 14,000 kWh, costing £570 and generating 2,600 kg CO2.

Gas use in the Easter 2026 holidays has increased by 1,100% compared to Easter 2025. 

Between Saturday 28 Mar 2026 and Thursday 9 Apr 2026 you used 12,000 kWh of gas at a cost of £480. Adjusting for changes in outside temperature, this is still an increase of 11,000 kWh and 2,000 kg CO2. Ask the school site manager to check the heating controls to reduce gas use during the school holidays.
