What you did

On Tuesday, 4th July, we are scheduled to host a STEM engineer who will spend the day with our Year 6 pupils. This experienced engineer will share insights about their work, providing our students with a real-world perspective on their classroom lessons.

The visit is set to begin with an engaging presentation, during which the ambassador will discuss the importance of renewable energy technologies in combating climate change. Using interactive models and tools, they will demonstrate how solar panels and wind turbines work, simplifying these complex concepts for our students to grasp.

Our pupils are expected to show great interest in learning about the future of offshore wind technology and how it contributes to a more sustainable and resilient energy grid. We anticipate lively discussions around the role of renewable energies and their potential to reshape our energy consumption habits in the future.

One of the key highlights of the day will be a Q&A session where students will have the opportunity to directly ask the engineer questions. We foresee a flurry of curious inquiries about the ambassador's career path, the challenges they face in their work, and future prospects in green technology.

The ambassador will also introduce the wide array of careers available in the green skills sector. This should inspire our students to consider these opportunities as they look forward to their future career paths.

Upon the completion of the visit, we plan to log this enriching activity, as we continue to expose our students to STEM experiences. We are eagerly looking forward to this visit, believing it will spark our students' interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and showcase the practical implications of these subjects in real life.
