Watch out - the heating or hot water is running during the current school holidays! Up to Friday 10 Apr 2026 the school used 5,600 kWh of gas during this holiday, which has cost £170 and generated 1,000 kg CO2. Make sure both your heating and hot water are switched off to prevent further waste.

If you choose to leave your heating and/or hot water running, by the end of the holidays you will have used 5,800 kWh, costing £170 and generating 1,100 kg CO2.

Gas use in the Easter 2026 holidays has increased by 46% compared to Easter 2025. 

Between Saturday 28 Mar 2026 and Friday 10 Apr 2026 you used 5,600 kWh of gas at a cost of £170. Adjusting for changes in outside temperature, this is still an increase of 1,800 kWh and 320 kg CO2. Ask the school site manager to check the heating controls to reduce gas use during the school holidays.
