Review progress

Look out! Gas use in the Summer holidays has increased by 22% compared to Summer half term. Between Saturday 20 Jul 2024 and Tuesday 3 Sep 2024 you used 11,000 kWh of gas at a cost of £1,000. Adjusting for changes in outside temperature, this is an increase of £180 and 360 kg CO2 compared to the Summer half term holidays. Ask the school site manager to check the heating controls to reduce gas use during the school holidays.

There is a large variation in seasonal overnight electricity usage from 13 kW in the winter to 7.3 kW in the summer. This suggests electric heating is left running overnight during the winter or the school has inefficient security or flood lights. Change electric heater settings and improve lighting efficiency to save £3,600 annually.
