Gas use in the Autumn half term 2024 holidays has increased by 27% compared to Autumn half term 2023.

Between Saturday 26 Oct 2024 and Saturday 2 Nov 2024 you used 3,300 kWh of gas at a cost of £360. Adjusting for changes in outside temperature, this is still an increase of 700 kWh and 130 kg CO2. Ask the school site manager to check the heating controls to reduce gas use during the school holidays.

There is a large variation in seasonal overnight electricity usage from 41 kW in the winter to 20 kW in the summer. This suggests electric heating is left running overnight during the winter or the school has inefficient security or flood lights. Change electric heater settings and improve lighting efficiency to save £20,000 annually.
