What you did
In our classes we talked about the importance of turning off electrical plugs to save electricity. We also discussed why some plugs need to be left switch on at all times. These included the fridge, freezer and control box in the computing suite. The children looked around their classrooms and stuck green labels nex
t to the plug sockets that could be switched off and red stickers on the ones that must remain on at all times.
Activity description
Pupils will identify all IT equipment, appliances and lighting throughout the school and indicate which can be turned off using a traffic light coding system.
