Review progress

Gas use in the Summer 2024 holidays has increased by 110% compared to Summer 2023.

Between Saturday 20 Jul 2024 and Sunday 1 Sep 2024 you used 27,000 kWh of gas at a cost of £1,700. Adjusting for changes in outside temperature, this is still an increase of 14,000 kWh and 2,600 kg CO2. Ask the school site manager to check the heating controls to reduce gas use during the school holidays.

There is a large variation in seasonal overnight electricity usage from 27 kW in the winter to 17 kW in the summer. This suggests electric heating is left running overnight during the winter or the school has inefficient security or flood lights. Change electric heater settings and improve lighting efficiency to save £4,100 annually.
