Gas use in the Autumn half term 2025 holidays has increased by 18% compared to Autumn half term 2024.

Between Saturday 18 Oct 2025 and Sunday 2 Nov 2025 you used 37,000 kWh of gas at a cost of £2,300. Adjusting for changes in outside temperature, this is still an increase of 5,700 kWh and 1,000 kg CO2. Ask the school site manager to check the heating controls to reduce gas use during the school holidays.

There is a large variation in seasonal overnight electricity usage from 89 kW in the winter to 54 kW in the summer. This suggests electric heating is left running overnight during the winter or the school has inefficient security or flood lights. Change electric heater settings and improve lighting efficiency to save £23,000 annually.
