Review progress

Look out! Gas use in the Summer holidays has increased by 1,500% compared to Summer half term. Between Tuesday 23 Jul 2024 and Sunday 1 Sep 2024 you used 860 kWh of gas at a cost of £63. Adjusting for changes in outside temperature, this is an increase of £60 and 150 kg CO2 compared to the Summer half term holidays. Ask the school site manager to check the heating controls to reduce gas use during the school holidays.

There is a large variation in seasonal overnight electricity usage from 25 kW in the winter to 7.7 kW in the summer. This suggests electric heating is left running overnight during the winter or the school has inefficient security or flood lights. Change electric heater settings and improve lighting efficiency to save £12,000 annually.
