If you choose to leave your heating and/or hot water running, by the end of the holidays you will have used 18,000 kWh, costing £920 and generating 3,300 kg CO2.

Gas use in the Spring half term 2025 holidays has increased by 110% compared to Spring half term 2024. 

Between Saturday 15 Feb 2025 and Thursday 20 Feb 2025 you used 12,000 kWh of gas at a cost of £620. Adjusting for changes in outside temperature, this is still an increase of 6,500 kWh and 1,200 kg CO2. Ask the school site manager to check the heating controls to reduce gas use during the school holidays.
