Watch out - the heating or hot water is running during the current school holidays! Up to the school used 13,000 kWh of gas during this holiday, which has cost £510 and generated 2,300 kg CO2. Make sure both your heating and hot water are switched off to prevent further waste.

Gas use in the Summer 2026 holidays has increased by 150% compared to Summer 2025. 

Between Tuesday 21 Jul 2026 and Tuesday 11 Aug 2026 you used 13,000 kWh of gas at a cost of £510. Adjusting for changes in outside temperature, this is still an increase of 7,700 kWh and 1,400 kg CO2. Ask the school site manager to check the heating controls to reduce gas use during the school holidays.
