Gas use in the Xmas 2024/2025 holidays has increased by 1,400% compared to Xmas 2023/2024.

Between Saturday 21 Dec 2024 and Sunday 5 Jan 2025 you used 6,500 kWh of gas at a cost of £1,200. Adjusting for changes in outside temperature, this is still an increase of 6,000 kWh and 1,100 kg CO2. Ask the school site manager to check the heating controls to reduce gas use during the school holidays.

There is a large variation in seasonal overnight electricity usage from 43 kW in the winter to 26 kW in the summer. This suggests electric heating is left running overnight during the winter or the school has inefficient security or flood lights. Change electric heater settings and improve lighting efficiency to save £21,000 annually.
